WE NEED HELPERS!!!
Hi Everyone,
As you may have seen from our Facebook page we have been really busy with camps these past couple of months and we still have a few months of the busy season ahead of us.
In order to prepare for all of our upcoming camps we are holding a working bee on the 5th of December here at Blue Lagoon.
We need as many helpers as we can get to get the site tidied up for the summer. If you are available and have tools and equipment you can bring to aid us we would love to have you along!

When:          Saturday the 5th of December, 2015
Where:        Blue Lagoon Christian Camp                                                                                                                                                                                41 - 55 Bally Park Road, Dodges Ferry, 7173
Time:            9:00am - 4:00pm (BBQ Lunch provided)

Some of the tasks we need to complete are as follows:
  • Mulch trampoline and playground areas
  • Build tyre retaining wall base of the games room bank
  • Mulch the bank outside the games room
  • Mulch under the slide
  • Mulch the garden beds around the slide
  • Mulch the initiatives course

  • Paint the steel door frames in the dormitories
  • Remove spider webs from around the dormitories
  • Paint the window frames and door architraves in the tiger head dorms
  • Remove weeds under the trampolines
  • Polish the kitchen floor
  • Weed spraying
  • Clean, repair and polish dining room tables
  • Clean the games room windows
  • Move soil to complete the camp fire area
  • Remove graffiti from the bunks and re-lacquer
  • Plant new plants around the slide and boundary fences as per planting plan
  • Painting the new renovations in house 3 (Skilled painters only!!)

Equipment that we will need:

Take time to wonder...

We have all come to know Christmas as the silly season and it is known by that name for a reason!! Blue Lagoon is not exempt from this busy time of year and as the weather warms up the number of camps we have visiting with us increases.

We have been having a great time with the schools who have been coming to stay and our initiatives course has proven a hit with both teachers and campers alike.
Camp is so often such a busy time as we rush from one activity to another, however, some of the most special moments of camp are not in the rushing from one destination to another but in the times that we stop for a moment.

When we slow down and take time for each other it is so special to see the way the campers and their teachers are able to bond and it blesses me, to witness this happening.
It is precious to see kids play with each other and share their experiences away from the distraction of social media and technology. They are able to find wonder in so many things,  like the simplicity of an anemone closing with the poke of a finger and in the patterns and swirls of a regular seashell.
We seem to  suppress this ability as we grow older but that wonder is still within us if we will take the time to let it out.

I encourage you to take a step back this 'silly season'and to find the wonder in the creation around you.
God has created an incredible world for us to live in and as the holiday season draws nearer don't forget to take to time to enjoy all that he has given you!
Blessings
Nic
“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?

In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind."
